Fund Raising
Fund raising can be an important component of getting your team to a summer camp of your choice. In this regard we have tried to investigate fund raising opportunities that may help your team or club to get more participants to camp this summer. After researching several different organizations we feel that we can recommend one highly that is also endorsed by USA Wrestling. The company is called Gear Up America. Here is what Kevin Hansen of USA wrestling has to say about the product.
What prompted us to recommend this opportunity is what separates Gear Up America from other typical fundraising offerings and included the following four elements.
- No money up front. Orders are taken and payment received and you only pay when the products are delivered.
- Organizations earn a 40% profit on sales.
- Variety of products. You sell products from 3 different brochures, each with up
to 28 items to order from with items priced from $6 -
$20.. Select from products that best fit your circumstance and community. - Participants are provided wrestling gear based on sales. My experience with most
fund raisers is if you have 15 kids participating, almost half will throw the information
in the garbage can. With this program each participant earns wrestling gear based
on sales. Typical rewards begin at selling 20 items from the brochure, at which
point you can select wrestling gear from such manufactures as Under Armour/Asics/Brute/Adidas.
Choose gear from singlets, headgear, wrestling shoes, under armour gear, travel bags,
hoodies, warm-
up gear, etc. Gear is customizable with color choices, team name, mascot or lettering. Getting something for their effort, besides earning money for camps, increases group participation. The rewards program continues with increased sales resulting in being able to select from more gear options. The results of the Gear Up program has resulted in a participation rate 3 times higher than other comparable programs.
